WALT read words and build up our reading vocabulary. 



W.a.l.t: read simple sentences and identify words within that sentence.



W.A.L.T: hear the first and final sounds of a word.




W.a.l.t: hear the initial, middle and final sounds of a word.




W.a.l.t: create real words using our vowel knowledge.

 

W.a.l.t: recognise the middle sound of letters.



W.A.L.T: sound out words and learn a few spelling patterns.


     
 W.a.l.t: use our phonics knowledge to read words.


Listening to Reading

Listening to reading, whether in the form of audio books, kids/siblings/parents or family reading stories; it is a great way to develop fluency, expression, phrasing and vocabulary.
